Your year of mastery

2020 is the year of mastery, it is your year. At least, if you are around 27-33.

Why that age range? You have been working for about ten years now and its time to take advantage of all that you have learnt, even if you don’t know what it is yet.

I hope this does not come as a surprise, but you have mastered something! You have attained MASTERY. YOU!

You have spent, at minimum, ten thousand hours doing what you do best, to be who you are right now. Be it a:

• project manager,
• business analyst,
• developer,
• consultant,
• designer,
• member of the Public Service, or
• entrepreneur.

What ever role you have been doing for the last ten years! I also know, if you are reading this, you want to do more than just ‘have a job’. I’d also guess you have probably had a side hustle or two over the years. How do I know? Because it is my story too and I am convinced I am not alone.

Over the years I have come to learn what it takes to be successful, to be an entrepreneur and more importantly what it takes to find fulfillment in the work you do. While know I am not a true entrepreneurial master yet, I know what I have achieved to date and what I am on track to achieve. It is my hope that I can share an insight or two that helps shorten your journey, that helps you achieve the success you want in your life.

I have experienced what it takes fail hard as an entrepreneur, I am guessing you have never heard of ‘The Rapport Guy’, or ‘The Man Pack’! ABout 0% of you attended courses run by my personal development business, and that is cool.

What I have done is achieve success as an I.T. proffessional, going from $32 - $100 per hour as a contractor, working in every state and territory. Having traveled internationally to serve my customers. I successfully transitioned from contracting into consulting. Moving through the different disciplines and levels, finding my feet along the way. Most importantly, learning how to scale and grow a business and team. All enabled from those failures as an entrepreneur.

The key lesson that has come from all of it is… percistance. Success takes percistance. And

So the biggest change is that I have reached my ten thousand hours. It is now less about the lessons (though there are many to come) and more about action.
