5 Key insights from the NLP days By Robert Way

INTRODUCTION

Take these 5 key lessons from our blog archive and identify if you can use it for your success. Use these lessons to guide your focus and actions towards the results you want in life.

1. FOCUS: The Power of Attention

“Energy flows where attention goes.” This adage reminds us to concentrate on our desires, not our fears. Regularly gauge your focus with these questions:

  • What am I currently doing? Is it aligned with my goals?

  • Where is my focus right now?

  • Is this truly what I want? If not, what is my desired outcome?

2. CAUSE & EFFECT: The Seat of Control

Life unfolds based on our interaction with the world. If you’re encountering obstacles, assess your stance:

  • Are you justifying why things aren’t working? (Effect)

  • Or are you proactively navigating around hurdles? (Cause) Pose these questions to yourself:

  • How have my actions led to this situation?

  • What outcome am I seeking?

  • What steps must I take to achieve it?

3. PERCEPTION IS PROJECTION: The Mirror of Self

Our perceptions of others often reveal much about ourselves. When irritated by someone, reflect:

  • Have I exhibited similar behavior?

  • What were my reasons?

  • Acknowledge this trait within yourself.

  • Redirect focus to the positive aspects of the person or situation.

4. OUTCOMES: Crafting Successful Goals

Shape your goals with precision and positivity. Visualize your achievement with the structure: “It is now [specific date], and I am/have [specific outcome].” Craft goals that are:

  • Positively stated, with you at the core.

  • Initiated by you, reflecting your proactive steps.

  • Clear and vivid in your mind, including the final step of success.

  • Beneficial not only to you but also to those around you and the wider world (ecological).

  • Flexible, open to various paths to success.

  • Realistic within your timeline.

  • Expansive, offering you increased life choices.

5. TAKE ACTION: The Key to Realization

Nothing materializes without action. If you’re not progressing:

  • Reassess your focus. Is it aligned with your desires?

  • Define clearly what you want.

  • Ensure you’re moving towards your goal.

IN CLOSING

Embrace your journey to success. Pursue your aspirations and savor the journey. Remember, you are inherently resourceful and complete. Sometimes, a gentle reminder of our inner capabilities is all we need.
